Registration is now open for the Just Transition Platform conference. The event will take place in Brussels and online between 21 and 23 October 2025! The conference will mark the 5th anniversary of the Just Transition Platform.
Hosted by DG REGIO, this important event will celebrate five years of implementation of the Just Transition Platform (JTP) and the Just Transition Fund (JTF), including their key role in supporting EU regions in their transition from fossil fuels to sustainable, climate-neutral economies.
The main sessions of the conference, which will take place on 21 and 22 October, will be devoted to presenting regional success stories. These sessions will enable an exchange between EU institutions, national and regional authorities, civil society, and industry on how the JTF promotes structural reforms, strengthens competitiveness, and enables inclusive, climate-neutral development across Europe.
The agenda will include topics such as:
- The role of just transition in enabling structural reforms in labour markets, energy systems, and governance;
- Using clean technologies to accelerate regional competitiveness and decarbonisation;
- Development of just transition observatories to monitor progress and impacts;
- The importance of resilience and fairness in transition strategies, with examples from vulnerable communities;
- The need for strategic communication to build trust, prevent misinformation, and support inclusion.
