The SAŠA Development Agency and the SAŠA Just Transition Centre invite you to two interconnected interactive workshops titled “Best Practices for Managing Absenteeism,” which will take place:

  • Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Workshop A)
  • Friday, June 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Workshop B)

Location: Lecture Hall at Hotel Paka (main entrance by the reception desk), Rudarska 1, 3320 Velenje.

These events represent a continuation of the professional program on absenteeism in the SAŠA region, where companies, the healthcare sector, and management are facing the challenges of rising sick leave rates and the need for systemic changes in the field of occupational health.

The goal of the first workshop is to share experiences, practical examples, and challenges that organizations face in the area of absenteeism. The second workshop will focus on transforming these challenges into concrete, practical, and measurable solutions.

The event’s guest expert will be Aleš Bizjak, M.A., chairman of the Strategic Council for Health at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (GZS), who, with many years of experience managing a large industrial company, is one of the key experts warning that absenteeism is becoming a serious obstacle to the development of the Slovenian economy. He emphasizes the need for systematic, responsible, and data-driven management of sick leave and points out that health-related reasons are not the only factor contributing to high absenteeism in Slovenia.

PROGRAM

The workshops will be conducted by the Savinja-Šaleška Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Invel d.o.o. Participation in the workshops is free of charge; registration is required.
