The future of hydrogen technologies in the Šaleška Valley
The Savinjska-Šaleška Region Development Agency, within which the SAŠA Centre for Just Transition and the Velenje Association for Modern Technologies operate, is organising a professional conference entitled Green Hydrogen – Energy Source of the Future on 5 September 2024. The aim of the conference is to raise awareness in the Savinjska-Šaleška region, which is on the verge of a major energy and economic transformation, about the opportunities, challenges, and applications of hydrogen technologies in energy, industry, and transport.
The consultation will consist of two parts. The professional part will include presentations of numerous projects by HSE, ELES, Pipistrel, Steklarna Hrastnik, and the Kssena Agency, the Chemical Institute, the Jožef Štefan Institute, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana. The panel discussion will lead a conversation about opportunities for energy restructuring in the SAŠA region with representatives from the Municipality of Velenje, Termoelektrarna Šoštanj, Pipistrel, the Chemical Institute, the KSSENA Agency, and Biomasa Nazarje.
The purpose of the consultation is to draw conclusions that will help identify opportunities for the use of hydrogen technologies for the regional economy and energy sector, to establish partnerships, and to develop strategies for high-tech development in the SAŠA region.
