Yesterday, 11 June 2024, in cooperation with the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport and the SPIRIT Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Promotion of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Internationalisation, we organised an information day with a presentation of the public call for proposals for the promotion of investments for the economic restructuring of the Zasavje and SAŠA coal mining regions under the Just Transition Fund.

In the first part, participants listened to a presentation of the purpose, objectives, and conditions of the call for proposals by a representative of the SPIRIT agency in the conference room of the SAŠA incubator and via an online connection. The second part was devoted to specific questions from participants, which were answered by representatives of both the ministry and the SPIRIT agency. After a lengthy discussion of questions from the audience, questions from participants via remote connection were also answered. The questions related to clarifications regarding the demonstration of energy and material efficiency, newly created jobs, and bank guarantees, and the time constraints faced by applicants, who will be submitting their applications as early as 1 July 2024, the first application deadline, were also highlighted.

A total of 80 participants attended the event online and in person. The large turnout and extensive questions demonstrated the interest and commitment of local companies to funds from the Just Transition Fund and the implementation of investments in the local environment.
