The Ministry of the Economy, Tourism, and Sport, in cooperation with the SPIRIT Slovenia agency, is preparing a new public call for proposals to support productive investments, which is scheduled to be published in the second quarter of this year, i.e., by the end of June. The call will be aimed at small, medium-sized, and large companies that are planning investments to increase productivity with the aim of creating new jobs.

On 5 May 2025, the European Commission gave a positive reply to the question posed by the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, meaning that the new call for proposals for support for productive investments under the Just Transition Fund will take into account the incentive effect of the date of submission of the application for the already cancelled public call for proposals for the promotion of investments for economic restructuring in the Zasavska and Savinjska-Šaleška coal mining regions under the Just Transition Fund for 2024-2027. It can also be considered that the change to the original applications submitted to the new public call for proposals is the result of unforeseen circumstances beyond the applicant’s control, provided that the project and the list of costs remain essentially unchanged. The opinion of the European Commission will be taken into account in the preparation of the new call for proposals. The exact rules regarding the claiming of costs already incurred and the conditions for application will be published in the call for proposals.
