The Savinjsko-Šaleška Region Development Agency announces that the Savinjsko-Šaleška Coal Mining Region has achieved an exceptional result in the public call for proposals to promote investments for economic restructuring in the Zasavje and Savinja -Šaleška coal regions under the Just Transition Fund for the period 2025–2028. A total of 21 projects by companies from the region were supported, bringing in more than 42.5 million EUR in approved funds for the restructuring, development, and sustainable transformation of the SAŠA economy.

Large Companies – Key Development Shifts in the SAŠA Region

Among large companies, 7 projects were approved, including:

  • ErgoPharma d.o.o. – a new dietary supplement factory in Velenje (5,000,000 EUR)
  • Gorenje d.o.o. – Diversification into a New Generation of Sustainable Products (5,000,000 EUR)
  • GARNOL d.o.o. – green concrete technology (1,198,519 EUR)
  • PLP d.o.o. Velenje – Šaleška Valley Wood Processing Center (EUR 1,132,812.80)
  • Plastika Skaza d.o.o. – Expansion of production capacity (1,060,000 EUR)
  • TIKI HVAC d.o.o. – Development and Competence Center for Renewable Energy Sources (1,121,816 EUR)
  • RGP d.o.o. – Production Diversification (1,183,789.39 EUR)

The total amount of funding approved for large companies is 15.7 million EUR.

SMEs – A Strong Wave of Investment by Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises

In the SME category, 14 projects were approved, including:

  • Autotech d.o.o. – Development Center for Automation and RCAP Production (1,338,995 EUR)
  • Reduxi Adria d. o. o. – Cloud-based system for managing
  • electricity (860,803 EUR)
  • MEGA M d.o.o. – Production of a Sustainable Mobility System (3,540,000 EUR)
  • AUDIOMED d.o.o. – Development and Production Center for Carbon Products and 3D Technologies (1,344,000 EUR)
  • Renderspace d.o.o. – DENTODIO multifunctional device (2,437,500 EUR)
  • MA & DA d. o. – Upgrade of hospitality and recreational facilities (1,698,000 EUR)
  • OMONIA d.o.o. – Establishment of an IT security and operations center (1,791,600 EUR)
  • MPT, Ltd. – Expansion of production capacity and process automation (1,245,118 EUR)
  • PRESTA, Ltd. – NALA PARK – Advanced Local Agri-Food Production (1,794,000 EUR)
  • UŽIVAJ ZDAJ, Ltd. – Service Infrastructure Upgrade (1,248,000 EUR)

The total amount of funding approved for SMEs is 26.8 million EUR.

Overall impact for the SAŠA region

The Savinjsko-Šaleška Region is on track with a total of 21 approved projects and €42.5 million in approved funding. The projects cover key areas of restructuring: advanced technologies, the circular economy, renewable resources, automation, sustainable production, and the development of new products.

The Zasavje coal-mining region has also received a significant share of the funds, primarily for projects by large companies and SMEs that will contribute to the region’s restructuring. Details are available in the official information list.
