The just transition to greener energy sources means that the transition process is carried out in a way that minimises negative social and economic consequences while maximising benefits for the environment and society as a whole. This requires proper planning and policies that establish mechanisms to support those communities and workers who are most dependent on existing fossil fuels.

It is also very important to ensure that the benefits of the transition are distributed fairly. This means that green energy sources and the opportunities they offer should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their social or economic status. In addition, investments must be made in education and training so that workers currently employed in the fossil fuel industry can transition to new, more sustainable career paths.

Finally, the just transition also means that we must actively involve all parts of society — from politicians and businesses to individuals and communities — in decisions and activities related to the transition to green energy. This ensures that the interests of all parties are taken into account and that any negative consequences are minimised.
